About Markup

Markup is a free online directory of study resources for the students of St. Mark's School of Texas, built by Lucas Herrera.

Markup is in no way officially affiliated with St. Mark's.

How to use Markup

Creating an account

Signup is quick — just a username and a password. While it's not required, we recommend using your first name and last initial (or full name). This makes it easier for admins to reach you, helps you stand out when sharing resources, and lets your friends and classmates find what you've posted.

Once you're in, you can browse and open study resources, post your own, chat on the forum, contact admins, and save your favorite posts.

Making a post

When you create a post, you'll be asked to fill in a few fields:

  • Title. A short, clear description of what you're sharing.
  • Description. A little more detail — still brief.
  • Class & Teacher. Pick from the dropdowns. Check first whether the teacher or class is already listed — if it is, use it.
  • Link. Your resource — a study guide, Quizlet, Knowt deck, Google Doc, Claude app, YouTube video, anything study-related.
Only add a new class or teacher if they're not already listed. Duplicates make the directory messy and harder for everyone to use.

That's it! Log in anytime to edit or delete your posts, see what you've saved, find new resources, chat on the forum, or just look around.

Happy studying!

User Policy

  • St. Mark's students only. Markup is currently restricted to St. Mark's students. Anyone attempting to use it from outside the school will be removed.
  • Keep it study-related. All activity on Markup should be related to schoolwork or studying. Off-topic material will be removed, and accounts that repeatedly post non-study content may be removed.
  • No spam. Spamming will get your account banned and your posts deleted.
  • Admin moderation. Admins may edit or delete posts when necessary — usually to fix software glitches or formatting issues, but also to enforce this policy.

Zero-tolerance policy

Anything inappropriate — harmful or non-age-appropriate conduct, bullying of any kind — will be acted on immediately. There are no warnings.

All posts are saved to a permanent database and remain visible to admins even after you delete them.

Teachers are welcome

St. Mark's faculty are more than welcome to make an account and look around. Browse what your students are sharing, see which resources are getting used, or post your own — study guides, practice problems, supplemental readings, anything you think might help. If you ever want a post or resource removed, message the admins from the footer link.
